Positive: the property is situated in a nice area and the breakfast itself was very good.
Negative: We booked a junior room with a large bed and sofa bed for two adults. We were travelling with our two young children (ages 2 and 3), but when booking online the system indicated we would need to reserve an additional room to add them, which didn’t make sense given the room size and bedding. Upon arrival, the hotel charged us an extra £30 for the children, and the receptionist explained this would include breakfast for them the following morning. However, breakfast was only provided for the two adults. In practice this wasn’t a major issue as our children wouldn’t have eaten a full breakfast anyway, but we still paid for it and the communication was inconsistent. The room was also very cold when we arrived. Even after setting the heating to 28°C, it took around five hours to become warm enough, and during that time we had to keep our jackets on. This was quite uncomfortable, especially with young children. The hallways did not appear clean and looked as though they had not been vacuumed for quite some time. There were posters stating that the hotel was doing its best to maintain cleanliness, but unfortunately the actual condition did not reflect this. Overall, the stay itself was acceptable, but the booking process, heating, and cleanliness issues were disappointing. Greater transparency around child policies and better attention to room comfort and cleanliness would significantly improve the guest experience.
